'Kallisti'
House
In the traditional settlement of Oia, around seventy paved
wide steps lead to a quiet neighborhood where the caved house
is situated, restored with respect to the architectural
characteristics of the village.
The accommodation consists of two big arched spaces, one of
which is the sitting room with a stone made sofa bed and a
kitchen, with a dining area. The second one is the master
bedroom with a luxury bathroom. The floors throughout the
house are of traditional polished cement.
The courtyard provides magnificent view of the Caldera and the
volcano, a small island with the little church of Agios
Nikolaos, part of Imerovigli settlement and the capital of the
island Fira. A small stone made staircase on the outside of
the main house, leads to the upper level which is a cozy
separated air conditioned studio with a double bed, bathroom,
a fridge and a balcony with a breathtaking view.
The whole of the house is dug up into the rock that is made of
volcanic ash, lava and pumice stone that eventually led to the
creation of a compact soil which is called “aspa”. That’s why
the cave houses are cool in the summer. With simple and frugal
lines which exhale the sense of comfort and distinctive
luxury, but also the living in relaxing and comfortable
rhythms, make you feel like being in your own home. TV is also
available in the main house.
Cleaning service, change of sheets and towels three times a
week.
